Welcome to The Bicycle House! This cute historic two-bedroom home has a full kitchen, 55 inch TV, comfortable mattresses, desks in each room, reliable wifi, keyless entrance and shared laundry facilities. And two bicycles! We are just a fifteen-minute walk to downtown Snohomish with its many restaurants and coffee shops.
The space
Our family enjoys travelling and we have stayed in rentals across the US, so we know what amenities we appreciate. We start with comfortable beds and provide quality linens. All sleeping spaces have room-darkening curtains. We provide coffee, tea and cookies.
We want you to make memories and provide many items to help you enjoy our sweet little town. We are named the Bicycle House because we are only one block away from the Centennial Bicycle trail and we provide two adult bikes. On this trail, you can ride into town (five minutes) or all the way to Arlington (30 miles)! Also just two blocks away is the Snohomish Aquatic Center and we can lend beach-towels. In the summer it is possible to enjoy local swimming holes such as the Pilchuck river and nearby Flowing Lake and we have tubes, life-jackets and portable lawn chairs available for this summer fun.
Finally, we provide 24 hours between rentals to "air out" and ensure proper cleaning.
Guest access
Parking is readily available in the street, usually right in front of the house.
Other things to note
The Bicycle House laundry facilities, loaner bicycles and backyard is shared with our other rental "The Bicycle Apartment", which sits above the shared garage. There is a breezeway between the two units which keeps them fairly private (no shared walls). You will have exclusive use of the outdoor deck off of the kitchen. The Bicycle House is ideal for a couple or a small family-- we are currently renting for up to four guests. The house can termporarily hold up to seven guests with permission from host and payment of overnight fees $10/person. Two in the queen bed, three in the bunk room, and an additional two in the living room twin bed with pull-out trundle.
Our other listing, "The Bicycle Apartment" can house up to three. This is a great option for visiting with friends or family in outdoor spaces if there is a need for social distancing. Book early to ensure that both units are available concurrently.
Please note that this is a very old house with quirks, and NOT a luxury accommodation. There are in-wall heaters in all rooms except the bunk room and bathroom where a space heater can be added in winter. The wood stove is an additional option for winter, but please do not use if you have toddlers/young children - it gets too hot and is unprotected.
For stays longer than a week, we provide ample disposable amenities to get you started (toilet paper, shampoo, coffee etc. and all that is listed in amenities), however we do not replenish, and the guest is responsible for buying their own additional disposable amenities for the duration of the stay. We provide a discount for long-term stays to account for this. Thanks for understanding.
