8 Bedroom House in Dionis, Nantucket
Nantucket will be a great place to be this summer! As we all work through these challenging times, we are excited to be back on the island to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility. If you’re looking for an amazing location to be “socially distant” next season for a week, or longer, we can’t imagine many better places to be! The two homes provide plenty of space for multiple generations or families to spend time together while providing separate spaces for safety. The semi-private section of Dionis beach is an easy 1/2 mile walk or bike ride from the house and is almost always virtually empty.....on busy days you may have to share the half mile or so of beautiful beach with one or two other families...
Our property is privately perched on a high hill in the Trott's Hills area of Dionis with amazing views in all directions. Our Custom built upside-down house has multiple decks and porches, including one on the 2nd level with an outdoor fireplace and views over the Linda Loring Nature Preserve. Beautiful sunrises every morning and one of the best sunset views on the island! The main home features 5 bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms with central air conditioning and the cottage has 2 bedroom suites along with a great room with 4 twin beds for the younger travelers. The floor plans for both homes are as follows:
Main/First Level:
As you enter the home, you will find stairs to the left leading to the second level of the home. The hallway leads to the bedrooms located on the left, right, and rear right corner of the home. It also gives access to the office/sitting area, shared bathroom, and rear deck of the home. The bedrooms on this level are:
*Queen Bedroom with private bathroom featuring granite vanity with two seats, large walk in shower, heated towel rack, and two closets with built in drawers and plenty of space
*Queen Bedroom with two closets, private doors to back deck, and attached sitting area with a small desk and place to read as well as a bathroom with two sinks and tub/shower setup.
*Twin Bedroom with attached bathroom featuring two twin beds
Second Level:
The bright, hardwood stairway leads you to the second level of this “upside down” floor plan offering great views from every window. Here you will find the main living area featuring a 55” 4K television with Apple TV as well as a Sonos Sound System. The open floor plan is great for entertaining and the bright kitchen features granite countertops and all of the supplies you’ll need for your meals throughout the week. The dining room table seats 12 and the kitchen bar has seating for an additional 4. There is a small deck off the front of the house accessed thru the kitchen where you’ll enjoy the beautiful views while cooking on the huge Webber grill which is piped into the homes propane system ensuring you’ll never run out of propane in the middle of your meal prep! There is also another large deck on the rear of the house which is where we watch the sunset every evening and includes an outdoor fireplace for those night time gatherings. There is one bedroom on this level which is another Queen Suite with attached bathroom with two sinks and a large walk in shower along with a good size walk in closet.
Lower Level:
The lower level of the home has a large, second living area with another 55” 4k Apple TV, a wet bar area featuring a refrigerator, ice machine (that produces enough ice for all of your pool and beach needs), sink, and microwave. The laundry room features a washing machines and two dryers which do a great job keeping up with all of the towels and other laundry you may need to do throughout your stay. There is also a 5th bedroom which has one twin bed and two bunk beds with an attached full bathroom.
The cottage, “Sidekick”, is a short walk thru the landscaped yard and located closest to the 20’ x 50’, heated pool and pool area which was added to the property in 2018. The cottage has nice, covered porches on both the front and back sides as well as a second floor deck with another grill on the back side of the house with amazing views of the pool, nature preserve, and sunsets. The layout of the house is as follows:
First Floor:
*Queen Bedroom Suite with private bathroom with a walk in shower.
*Bedroom with 4 twin beds for the kids
Second Floor:
The open kitchen and living area is perfect for extended family or friends to have their own space for meals or to relax when not in the main house. The living area has a 55” 4K Apple TV and there are two doors leading to the back deck. There is also a washer and dryer to handle any laundry needs. In addition, the second Queen Bedroom suite with private bath is located on this level.
The expansive yard is professionally landscaped and offers plenty of space for outdoor activities in a variety of areas. There are two outdoor showers, the “natural” one in the rear of the main home as well as a more traditional one attached to the cottage.
Dionis Beach is a short walk or bike ride from the house and there are bike paths to make the 3.5 mile ride to town a breeze if you decide to leave the property. Guests are free to use any of the outdoor games, bikes, and beach chairs to eliminate the need for carrying these items to and from the island!
