Eat breakfast on the deck and watch the sunrise. Spend the day swimming, cycling, hiking or picnicking, or just sit back and enjoy the silence. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth. At the end of the day watch the sunset and listen to the tides turn and at night watch the shooting stars in a clear and beautiful sky. As a visitor here one can be inspired to be an artist, go to the surf to fish, play board games into the night.... etc.
To get to Tuckernuck from Nantucket, you can hire our caretaker to bring you over in his boat and ride up to the house with your belongings. The boat ride to Tuckernuck from Nantucket takes 20-40 minutes. The cottage on Tuckernuck is a 10-15 minute walk from where the caretaker lands his boat.
You should bring all food, paper goods, bedding, everything you need to eat, drink, sleep, bathe and be comfortable for your stay.
There are no stores, no services, no public support; there is some cell phone reception with your own personal cell phone.
The house is remote and situated on 10 acres of land and not even shouting distance to the next house. If you would like to be checked on throughout your vacation, perhaps you could arrange something with the caretaker.
The cottage is a post and beam structure. There is a fully equipped kitchen (gas refrigerator, gas stove, pots and pans etc.) An octagon-shaped table in the dining area seats six. A small sitting area/living room has a wood stove. Inside the cottage is a full bath with shower. A bedroom downstairs sleeps 2 in twin beds. Upstairs, an open loft with queen and double beds sleeps 4. There is an outside shower as well.
